As a child, I took many camping trips and road trips with my family, crisscrossing both the province of Ontario and the country of Canada. During those long hours in the backseat of the car, I wrote simple travel journals about our trips.

As a child, I took many camping trips and road trips with my family, crisscrossing both the province of Ontario and the country of Canada. During those long hours in the backseat of the car, I wrote simple travel journals about our trips.
As a young man, my girlfriend and I travelled around the world together for 6 months - Europe, Thailand, Australia, and New Zealand. I kept an extensive journal detailing that trip.
For much of my 31 year career as a teacher at Westview Centennial Secondary School, I dreamed of writing a book when I retired from teaching. In 2010, an economics class that I was teaching challenged me not to wait, at that time, for more than 10 years, to pursue my dream. So, at that time, I wrote parts of several chapters for a fictional story I have in mind. But my writing waned by the end of that year, and it was 5 years before I picked it up again.
Starting in 2015, my writing did persist, but my fictional story morphed into a memoir. In 2021, I self-published my memoir, Journey to Threenarrows, and retired from teaching.
Since that time, I have been travelling in pursuit of an A-Z list of destinations, and writing about my experiences, in an effort to raise money for youth programs.
At the beginning of this year, 2024, I started my own publishing company and published my 2nd book, Journey to Antarctica and Beyond, chronicling my travels to Lake Superior, Chile, Newfoundland, Argentina, Uruguay, and Antarctica.
The journey continues.

As 2023 came to a close, with my second book written and with the editing complete, I looked ahead to determine how I would bring it to life. I was very fortunate to encounter Marquis, a company that does printing for publishers. It was then that I realized I was being led to start my own publishing company, Darcy Mohr Publishing.

As 2023 came to a close, with my second book written and with the editing complete, I looked ahead to determine how I would bring it to life. I was very fortunate to encounter Marquis, a company that does printing for publishers. It was then that I realized I was being led to start my own publishing company, Darcy Mohr Publishing.
I registered as a publisher with Library and Archives Canada, and was issued an ISBN for my new book. I completed the formatting for the manuscript, designed the cover, and sent it off to Marquis to be printed.
With the production end of my business underway, I turned to marketing. I'm planning book launch events for my new book throughout the spring and summer. As well, I'm looking at independent book stores for additional distribution.
Although Darcy Mohr Publishing is in its early days, I'm laying the groundwork for my business to prosper well into the future.

My mission is very clear to me. I feel called by God to undertake a quest to travel the world and collect an A-Z list of destinations; to share my travels with the world; and to use my work to raise money for youth programs. Working with young people gave me the life I have. I feel compelled to spend the rest of my days working to give back.
I currently share my work through my books and through sharing photos and videos on Instagram. Although the future may change the method I use for sharing my experiences, the underlying call to share my journeys with the world remains.
